Ways to Log Food

There are different ways to log food in MyFitnessPal. Whether you’re eating out of a package, at a restaurant, or a home made meal, we’ve got you covered. Watch the following videos to learn how to use these features.

Scan Barcodes

If your meal has a barcode on the package, you can quickly and easily log it to your diary via the barcode scanner.

To do so, tap on the barcode scanner icon in your search box when you’re adding a food.

Search the Database

Search for food by name, brand or restaurant. As you type, MyFitnessPal filters your food history down. To surface results from the database, hit enter on the keyboard.

Log Calories and Macros Using Quick Add

If you’re eating out or with someone else and have the nutrition data available, Quick Add allows you to quickly log the total calories and/or macro data of your food or entire meal directly into your diary without adding items individually.
